The Appreciation Post - Feel Free Vinyl
After a quiet period, Boston power-pop legends The Appreciation Post have returned with their new single, Feel Free. The song leans into ’90s alternative rock, drawing inspiration from HUM, Failure, Weezer, and The Rentals. Lyrically, it’s a deeply personal reflection from Jim Keaney on memories of his late father and growing up in coastal New England.
I’ve been a die-hard Appreciation Post fan since the band formed in the early 2000s and have long admired Jim Keaney’s songwriting. When Feel Free was released digitally, I immediately texted Jim and told him I wanted to put out a special vinyl edition. We met up at the Format / Piebald show, worked out the details, and after a handshake and a few Shirley Temples, the plan was set.
